College Hoops Duel - Battle Your Way To the Top!

2011 Contest Winner Prize: $100

This is a contest for NCAA College Basketball fans. The format is a new single-elimination tournament held every week, with a prize for the ultimate winner.
Here is how the game works:
  1. We publish a schedule of 16 games every week.
  2. You pick game winners and arrange the games from high to low "Power".
  3. Two players' picks are matched up in one-on-one duels.
  4. If your picks are better, then you win the duel! You move to next round.
  5. Two people eventually face off for the FINAL duel ...
  6. ... and ONE person wins it all.
IMPATIENT? WANT TO JUST DO IT? Tsk, tsk... but here you go:

Sign Up • Then, Make Your Picks • And Watch the Pyramid Grow

(Sign up without fear - this site is always free and we don't spam anybody.)

For more details, see the picture below for how it works. And also scroll down to see an example of one duel.

That's right! It's not you against the whole crowd, it's one-on-one. In each round you (and your picks), duel one on one, against another player (and his or her picks). So you only need to defeat a few people every week to win the whole thing. Sounds easy? Not when you come up against fearsome sports-pickers like jommy or parkdude. But maybe you will defeat them, and then others will come to fear you.

Here's a picture which outlines the process. For more details on how your picks are "dueled", read on below.

How does one Duel work?

In one Duel, two player's picks are matched up against each other. As game results become known, the web site will compare your TOP pick with your opponent's TOP pick. If you both got it correct, then it will move to your SECOND picks. The duel is "sudden-death" - whoever is first to miss a pick, loses! It doesn't matter how many subsequent picks they got correct.
