Build The Ultimate Tower - or Crash!
The College Ultimate Tower is a game of building win-streaks in picking NCAA basketball games.
It is of course free; the prize is $100 for the season points winner. And, it's difficult to ever be truly out of the running since the lead is a great winning streak away.
You build a growing
Tower of points, as follows:
1 point for picking one game in a row
+2 for another correct game
+3 for another correct game
...etc...
To actually earn those points, you have to
Bank your working Tower. Suppose you have picked 5 in a row. Your Tower is worth 1+2+3+4+5 = 15 points. You can Bank those 15 points and start over with a new Tower at ground level (height zero). These 15 points are added to your season total, which are always safe from crashes.
The reason you want to Bank points is, of course, if you make a
wrong pick: your working Tower comes crashing down and is worth zero points. You have to start over!
So if you have picked 5-in-a-row, you must decide:
- Do I try to pick another game and grow my Tower to 15+6 = 21 points?
- Or, do I Bank my Tower and safely stash away the 15 points?
The game runs over the whole season, and there will never be two "Tower" games that are played on the same day.
You can skip any game you want, pick and un-pick games up to the lock time of each game. Passing (skipping a game) can be an important part of a winning strategy.
You can Bank your Tower, any time, but if one of the games you picked is in-progress then the Tower's height is calculated after the game results are in.
This is a unique and fun contest that you can join in any time. Even if you come too late to catch the season leader, you can still try to get the Tallest Tower prize.
