Mob_Robot and
Horde_Robot are pseudo-contestants in the Tournament of Champions
contests. They represent the consensus of the participants in the week's contest.
Proponents of index funds argue that, over time, the stock market (grumble) as a whole is smarter than individual investors. We decided to see how this argument fares when applied to football picks by entering the consensus of the participants (and computing consensus in two different ways) into the contest. So, you not only get to compete against others, but also against the consensus of all the participants as well.
Mob_Robot computes the consensus solely by looking at the percentage of people who picked a team to win. It pays no attention to how people ranked the game. The stronger the consensus is in a match the higher the match is rated.
Horde_Robot computes the consensus by taking into account how people ranked the game. It takes into account how strongly people who chose team A to win felt about their choice.
